Mobile Telephones With Dual Sim

By Mark Johnson

Many new innovations in mobile telecommunications have increased choice and flexibility for phone users. We now have access to unlocked mobile phones as well as SIM free mobile phones. For the busy business person, it is getting increasingly difficult to separate personal and business life. With mobile phones, this separation is crucial. Things can get complicated if a user has to split their personal calls and business calls on the same mobile phone bill. Month end is usually spent scaning phone invoices to work out which calls were personal and which were private - and this all takes up valuable time.

Now there is a solution to this problem - the mobile phone with dual SIM functionality. Dual SIM mobile phones are those that hold two SIM cards simultaneously. In the past, dual SIM adapters were used which enabled a user to switch from one SIM card to another as required.

With advances in technology, the phone user has more freedom and flexibility than before. They can now swap between two active SIM cards as necessary depending on their requirements. The new dual SIM phones are a real boon and provide a whole range of possibilities.

Whereas a phone with a single transceiver can only use one SIM card unless it has an adapter attached, a dual SIM phone has dual tranceivers which display the strength of the signal or both the telephone networks.

Before, to keep personal and business calls separate, most people carried two mobile phones. Now, with the dual SIM mobile phone, this is no longer necessary. With just one handset, you can have access to two separate phone numbers running on two separate telephone networks. This makes life so much simpler for the busy business person - two separate phones and two separate phone bills.

Another advantage of dual SIM mobile phones is that there is no need to worry about legal issues such as breach of contract or voiding of warranty. Both SIMs can be active simultaneously and allow calls to be received on either number at any given time.

It is also possible to mix and match different contracts and price plans depending on the requirements for each SIM card. You can therefore have a business contract for one SIM card and a simpler, personal pricing plan for the second SIM card.
