An Introduction To Buying Contract Mobile Phones

By Ricky Patrick

If you have been looking around for a new telephone for quite some time, you may or may not have thought about the possibility of contract mobile phones. If you are used to pay as you go SIM cards and having your phone unlocked and being able to use any SIM card in any country you want, then you might be rather scared off by the possibility of getting a contract.

Firstly, the most obvious benefit is the fact that you can usually get your phone for free. If it is not free, then it will be heavily subsidized by the monthly fees which you will pay for the contract. However, this does not work like alone where you pay higher amounts of APR.

For example, if you want the latest camera phone which has wireless Internet, GPS and just about everything else that you expect to find on the expense of mobile phones, then you will be looking at spending many hundreds of dollars to get the latest model without a SIM card.

However, such phones often cost an enormous amount of money. If you want to buy them without a SIM card, you are typically looking at several hundred dollars at least in order to get the phone that you want. For most of us, we just don't have this sort of money to spend on a mobile phone.

However, with a contract, you will always be able to get a phone very heavily subsidized and very often the phone will be completely free, no matter how valuable the phone itself is. Your contract will last a couple of years probably, and you will have to pay a modest amount of money per month.

However, this is not quite like getting alone. You don't pay any interest on it and the amount of money you pay per month gives you a lot more than just the phone itself anyway. For example, you will often get unlimited text messages, which will actually save you a lot of money if you send a lot of SMSs.

You should also get some free calls but every packages different in some might only give you free course to certain numbers of your choosing. You'll also want to look into any other tariffs that you might be paying.

Many phones on contract also give you a degree of free Internet access. Make sure you look into this carefully however, and also take a careful look at the tariffs before you join a new programme.

What's more, while you will still have to pay for the contract for its duration which is normally eighteen to twenty four months, you can get the phone unlocked in most cases if you want to use it abroad with a foreign SIM card. So, a contract can be made to suit just about anyone.
