By Dawn Enstruthe

Car accessories are meant to make your ride appear more sophisticated. Accessories can also be a piece of an idea to add convenience and safety aspects to your car. Some kinds of car accessories are installed to represent a trait of the owner or a way to express one's style and personality. Over the years, the need for car accessories has been mainly for the owner's entertainment and the need to brag about his car.

Many cars you see very day on the street aren't adorned with a lot of accessories, tempting though they may be to purchase. The reason for this is that it can be expensive to buy a lot of car accessories, and it often just makes the car more attractive for thieves to steal. If your car qualifies as this type, you can often employ a Club or other means of securing the steering wheel.

You can also make your car look better in your eyes without emptying your wallet in order to buy them. Inexpensive options include bumper stickers, or any other car body sticker, that you can attach to your vehicle. You can find them very easily, and they never cost a lot of money; you can even inject a sense of humor into your car. Your favorite line or character from a television show can be adorned on your car, maybe you want to have a bobble head on your dashboard of your favorite pet. Bobble heads are another cheap and popular type of car accessory. They are found for the most part on the front or rear dashboard of the car.

Another famous car accessories considered as kitsch by many is the fluorescent pink trinket you see pierced by the car's antenna. Rosaries and other religious adornment, charms, and different kinds of air fresheners are also some of the classic and most used car accessories. Some of the very casual yet practical parts of your vehicle can also be considered as car accessories. For instance, you can choose different colours of floor mats that would complement with the overall look of your car. Flashy designs and attractive colours, aside from the classic grey, black and brown, are widely available in car accessory outlets nowadays.

There are also expensive car accessories available which are installed more for entertainment and convenience rather than for their functionality. There are the DVD players, black lights, neon lights for the headlights and undercarriage, integrated TV monitors, and even gaming console.

GPS or Global Positioning Systems can be installed into your car. These systems help the driver navigate to a destination instead of using a map. The down side to this wonderful device is that it is very expensive and not everyone is able to purchase it.

If you don't want to break the bank but still want to make your car look good, there are affordable options for car accessories that will make your car look beautiful. The most useful car accessories include, obviously, a GPS to help you if you get lost, and stereos or CD players if you want to listen to music.
