Any Good iPhone Accessories?

By James Keyes

Since its release in mid-2007, the Apple iPhone has quickly become one of the most sought after gadgets of the technological age. It is a perfect blend of both style and functionality, from its sleek exterior to its countless features and innovations which really put the word smart in Smartphone. Over the last few years, with 2 new generations of the iPhone being released, Apple, with the iPhone has gained a sizeable chunk of the market.

Obviously, keeping in mind sales figures for the iPhone, Apple as well as independent manufacturers have quickly started making and selling a plethora of iPhone accessories, which range from extremely functional to the bizarre. iPhone accessories have quickly become not just a way to enhance the capabilities of your phone, but style statements and trend setters in their own right, showcasing the latest in both design and technology.

A great example of this unique blend of fashion and advanced technology working in sync is the iPhone accessory marketed by Apple and Nike as the Nike + iPod Sport Kit. Compatible as both an iPod and an iPhone accessory, this sport kit measures your workout routine (time, distance, pace, calories burned etc.) with flawless ease using a sensor you can place in your Nike + shoe which transmits the data to your iPhone. If this weren't enough, you can sync this with your computer and examine thoroughly your workout, and adjust it to set goals for yourself. Along the same vein, Nike has designed several iPhone accessories to enhance your workout with the iPod or iPhone.

Other iPhone accessories marketed my Apple include Bluetooth headsets, standard earphones, car chargers, microphones, iPhone covers and even a remote with which you can control your iPhone. One iPhone accessory every music lover should have is a dock for your phone. Just place your iPhone in the dock, and you can play music at volumes loud enough to be heard for quite a distance.

Apart from iPhone accessories authorized
and sold by Apple, many other manufacturers are jockeying for a piece of the iPhone accessory market with cheaper, good quality options. If you don't want a dock and speakers for your iPhone, companies make acoustic speakers for your iPhone, which is nothing more than a well-designed hollow box to amplify your output volume. Almost every audio company in the market has headphones or earphones designed specifically as an iPhone accessory designed with countless themes, from Lady Gaga earphones to Star Wars themed ones. With younger audiences being the target, the latest iPhone accessory to make the rounds are the iSkin, a later cover available in a myriad of colors that puts your individual stamp on the otherwise black or white phone.

Another must have when it comes to iPhone accessories which are essential, would be car chargers, or dock chargers, USB adapters and the latest back up batteries for your phone.
While such independently made iPhone accessories may be cheaper, buy them with care, because they might just affect the running of your iPhone, and if you can afford it, go with the Apple endorsed or manufactured ones.
